Here we have an exceptional malachite specimen in the form of a lidded trinket box. Let me start by saying the photos don't do this justice whatsoever. It weighs 560g on my scales and measures approximately 4.5 inches by 4 inches by 2.25 inches. This has a distinct seaform green colour that would have most likely have been mined in the Democratic Republic Of Congo. It has wonderful art deco style with its geometric, hexagonal form. The piece has a polished finish and is bordered by a brass or bronze edge. The "grains" in the mineral are absolutely superb, its extremely decorative; mesmerising. This stunning item would look superb placed on a desk or antique side table. Perfect as a little desk tidy, jewellery or trinket dish. A great piece for any interior designers portfolio.
