HOUDINI ON MAGIC covers Houdini’s approach to handcuffs, lock picking, ropes and restraints, spiritualism, challenge escapes, and a lot of assorted tricks and illusions.  The current Dover edition of this book has a cover price of $19.95.  This edition has a pre-print BACK cover price of $12.95, which was from around 2010  -- this pre-price is covered by a dealer price sticker from the legendary Denny & Lee Magic Studio.

The book, which was mostly ghostwritten by Walter Gibson, contains so many great stories and so much interesting history... well, let me put it this way:  

If you LOVE magic, you should read this book -- you will not learn any tricks that you will actually perform.  

But you will learn tons of great stories about the early days of magic, and about the early methods.   Fascinating bios and photos of lots of early magicians and spiritualists.   

If you just love learning tricks, skip this book.  

But if you love the performance art of magic and all that it encompasses, this is a book for you! 

Because this example has the unfortunate crease on the front cover, you can get it at a BARGAIN price!
