Ian Parker
CUMBRIA

Born in County Durham, the son of a coal miner/artist, Ian attended school in Yorkshire before studying art at Shoreditch College, London, graduating in 1978. Ian paints fruit, flowers and vegetables presented in simple still life compositions that are brought to life by his talent for capturing the interplay of surface and light.

Ian’s beautiful paintings have been consistently selected for the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy. After viewing his work at the Summer Exhibition, Mark Monahan described it as, “a near perfect still life…its subject bathed in a subtly atmospheric light, it makes you feel you could reach through the canvas and pluck the fruit from the painting”

Ian has also exhibited at the New English Art Club. His work is included in the collections of Kensington Palace, Lord Young of Graffham, David Kossoff, Lohnro Textiles, Courtauld Textiles, Nassau Community College, Eddie Shah, Tate & Lyle plc, plus many private collections around the world.

We find these paintings exquisite and faultless in both technical skill and composition.
