Note that this is ONLY for the bottom half. Sold as parts. This is a BLUE cover.

This is an original Volvo 240 shifter cover in blue but it is ONLY the bottom half. Sold for parts. No damage. Does not seem to be brittle. Very nice cover with no stains or notable blemishes. Will be shipped safely. If you need screws let me know. Does not come with screws. Multiple available in the same condition. Note that this is just for parts and is NOT complete. You will have to use the top half of your shifter for parts. Just glue it on. If your shifter has a busted bottom half, this may be perfect for you.

1990-1992 models came with an almost identical cover, the only difference being a sticker at the bottom that says shifter release. It was just to identify that the shifter has a lock release underneath if you take it off. The covers I offer will function exactly the same way, just with out the sticker.

1993 models had a completely different shifter cover. These will not fit 1993 models.

Note that once you remove that shift knob button, it may not want to snap back on like it did before. I have heard many people having success reinstalling it but I have always had to JB weld my button back on. A little JB weld inside the button and around the end of the rod works great. You just have to tape it in position till it dries. And of course don't touch it for at least 24 hours. Be very careful not to crack or break the actual shift knob. The bottom tends to crack when you put to much pressure on it. So use nice even pressure and push against a paint scraper so you don't dent the knob.

Installation tips:

You can either pop your old top button off and JB weld the new one on.

OR you can remove the pin from the bottom of the shifter with a 1/16 punch and pull the button out with the rod that attaches it. Then your old button and rod go back in with out breaking the tabs on the back of the old button and having to glue the new one on. The pin goes back in after slightly rounding the edge before installation. Be patient and dont bend the pin if it isnt lining up. I am adding a picture of the bottom of the rod.

I have attached a picture of the 1990-1992 shifter with the yellow lock release as an example. I have also added a picture of two shifter covers showing the difference between 1989 and 1990. Note that the sticker version is not what you will be getting. Its an example only.
