1965 Harley-Davidson FLH (FLHFB) Panhead Electra Glide Original Unrestored Survivor
1965 Harley-Davidson FLH (FLHFB) Panhead – Original unrestored survivor! VIN # 65FLH11725 This 1965 Harley Davidson Panhead is a completely original and unrestored FLH (technically an FLHFB, which stands for Electra-Glide Super Sport/Foot Shift) showing just over 20,706 original miles. It is finished in its factory special order colors. Retaining its period-correct components (such as the original Harley Davidson accessory mounted saddlebags and the incredibly rare and original Hella accessory horns) finishes, and honest patina, this FLH presents as a true time capsule from the final year of the Panhead era.
The bike has never been restored or cosmetically refreshed, and it wears its age proudly—from the paint and chrome to the hardware and trim—making it an ideal candidate for collectors who value authenticity over over-restoration.
Exterior & Cosmetics:
Everything from the paint to the chrome to the engine finishes is original and unrestored. The color on the fenders and tank are a special order Harley-Davidson color, and although I haven’t found the specific names or color codes of the paint, I can say with certainty that the paint is original. If someone is going to say “Harley didn’t’ paint any bikes this color in ‘65”, you’re wrong! You could walk into your local Harley dealership and order just about any color you wanted, as long as you were ready to pay for it and wait a while longer.
I’m always amazed at the original paint bikes I see at shows and swap meets that were never in any factory produced catalog. On site inspections are welcome and encouraged. Again, this bike is an unrestored bike and has not been restored, painted, or modified. Real age, real wear, real patina – and these bikes are only original once.
Please note I have paint meter readings for the tanks and fenders. I can email or text them to any interested party upon request. I also have a number of additional detailed photos I can send out.
This FLH was purchased new in 1965 by its original owner and retained until the early 1990’s, when it was acquired by a local Harley-Davidson dealership to become part of its permanent vintage collection. The bike remained a part of the collection for years until the sale of the dealership, and has been in the hands of another Harley-Davidson collector since then.

-Factory “Electra Glide” script remains on the front fender
-Original tank badges and striping are intact
-Paint shows age-appropriate wear, and patina consistent with a preserved survivor
-Chrome and alloy surfaces show slight oxidation and minimal wear
– There were no replating or polishing attempts made while detailing this machine
-Factory-correct buddy seat with original covering
-Period correct Hella horns mounted on each side of the crash bars
-Factory windshield and lighting remain in place
This is the kind of bike that hasn’t been “improved”—just preserved
Mechanical Details:
This machine is presented in low-mileage preservation condition. Although it has been a static display since it’s museum collection days in the early 1990s, it will be recommissioned upon request of the buyer. That re-commissioning will include a complete oil and filter change, new battery, brake and clutch adjustment and tune up. The tires are obviously aged out, but can also be replaced at the buyer’s expense upon purchase and before delivery. The bike is guaranteed to run perfectly when it is delivered to the new buyer.
