ZEISS IR Boost Technology gives bright images due to 940nm IR photography. This is not visible in the dark so subjects are unaware and undisturbed. The 3 MP sensor with larger pixels performs better in night time photography due to its higher sensitivity and larger dynamic range to capture good imagery. The Flash has up to 25m range.

16:9 format images resolution offers 9% wider horizontal FoV compared to 4:3 images, helping to better capture animals and give a wider field of view of observation.

The Zeiss Secacam 1 can reliably detect movements even with small animals small animals with its optimised PIR Sensor with up to 5m more reach, to up to 25m distance.

Various modes are available - Normal: gap of 0.8 sec between pictures, Burst: gap of 0.3 sec between pictures. The default setting sends picture Nr.2, as this is when the animals are most often in the centre of the image.
