This is a charming and highly collectible vintage Avon Spice Village set, also known as the "Charming Cottages" collection. The set includes 12 unique hand painted ceramic houses designed as spice jars and comes complete with its original wooden display rack. It also includes some of the original unused spice name stickers/labels. Each spice house stands 3" tall, 2" wide and 2" deep. Even though a few of them already have the stickers applied, the spice houses appear to have never actually been used to hold spices or anything else.
The wooden display rack is 12" wide, 14" deep and 4 1/2" tall at the highest point in the rear. It is natural, unpainted wood. It has 4 tiers and is constructed as a step up design, making each of the spice houses easily visible and laid out just like a little village.
The collection is in overall good, displayable condition, but has the following specific condition notes which are factored into the pricing: The cinnamon jar is missing its internal gasket/seal in the lid. The oregano and paprika houses have a couple of small chips on the rear (not easily visible from the front display). See photos for details.
These sets were a limited edition offering from Avon, released in the late 1990s and are made of ceramic. All 12 houses have their lids, which sometimes feature the spice names or general labels like "Bakery" or "Florist".
