His first album in about three and a half years, "Yoo-ho," incorporates a diverse sound, including blues, mood songs, '60s soul, surf instrumentals, and funk, while also reflecting his experiences performing overseas over the past few years. Furthermore, the lyrics, once again written from a unique perspective, are truly one-of-a-kind. The album features 10 tracks, including the digital single "To My Grandfather."
As with his previous album, this one was recorded primarily with members of Shintaro Sakamoto's band, with Yuta Suganuma on drums, AYA on bass and chorus, and Toru Nishiuchi on saxophone and flute.
Kakudo Mami also guest-stars on marimba on two tracks. Recording and mastering engineer Soichiro Nakamura served as recording and mastering engineer. The artwork was created by Shintaro Sakamoto himself.
