The time has come to pass my "Rose" to another lucky VW enthusiast. The best place to begin in describing Rose is the fact that she is a runner; extremely reliable and starts and runs like a dream. Goes down the road at 55-60 MPH all day long and stops and starts and shifts perfectly. The absolute perfect VW for someone who wants an affordable split-window bus they can drive and enjoy immediately. And, if desired, take Rose to the next level.
I bought the bus on Ebay years ago from a seller in Texas after he had restored it. Solid, straight and honest bus. Only parting with Rose due to saving money to buy my dream hunting property.
The Great:
Again, runs like a top. Fly in and drive Rose home.
Super peppy and quick; not a sluggish, worn out engine.
Not an oil leaker like SO MANY VWs.
Interior is like new. Even smells like a new bus.
Body and frame are solid and 99.5% rust-free. Super dry.
The "stock" or factory look is so nice on this bus.
All lights and signals work.
Window seals are great.
Glass is perfect.
New battery.
Tires have 90-plus% tread remaining.
Roughly 9700 miles since restoration.
Always stored under cover and adored by my family and community.
Lengthy documentation of bus and restoration process from prior owner.
The Average:
Paint clear coat is beginning to peal on lower driver side panel.
Minor surface rust on hubcaps, wheels and mirror and wiper arms.
Window frames have minor surface rust (see photos).
Antenna bracket has some surface rust.
Needs Attention:
Gas gauge works when it want to.
Radio is not working, but did. Bluetooth & USB.
Paint has some scratches and tiny imperfections throughout but still looks very nice (see photos).
