Up for your consideration is a Goebel (of W. Germany) mug in the shape of a clown. It appears hand painted. The clown has a yellow ruff around his neck, blue buttons down the front, and red shoes. The clowns' face have been elaborately painted with eyebrows and wisps of hair, large black eyes, red rosy cheeks, and red lips. The mug opening has been surrounded in black paint.

The mug stands slightly less the 4 1/4 inches tall, measures 1 7/8 inches across the top opening, and weighs 7 5/8 ounces.

The bottom is marked with an incised mark that reads: 74 604 11 and then Goebel - W. Germany in blue print.

The mug is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is a hint of shelf wear to the base.
