Very rare, early big box MJM Guitar FX London Fuzz featuring original, authentic vintage NKT germanium transistors. Hand built circa 2001 with serial number 134. Various vintage transistors were used in London Fuzz pedals, but the original markings were usually removed. In this case, the transistors were also epoxied in place. Fortunately, the epoxy was clear and the proper NKT appearance and dimensions are obvious, and match the unmistakable sound.

Since the original markings aren't visible and the transistors are fixed in place, it's not possible to know with certainty what variation of NKT they are (275 red dot, 275 white dot, Mullard CV7005 branded, etc.) but they are physically identical to those made in the UK in the late 60s and early 70s.

The sound is thick and wooly, with bloom and harmonics typical of a medium gain NKT 275. It is complex, leaning darkish. I've compared it side-by-side to many Analog Man Sun Faces and it sounds virtually indistinguishable from some NKT 275 red dot examples. Other high quality components include a NOS ACU-CAP and military grade PEC potentiometers.

It's in good condition with typical paint chips. On bottom of pedal it appears that the paint reacted to contact with a rubber cable at one time. Labels are all intact. Original box included, though it's flimsy and in poor condition. This pedal has been in a private collection for over 20-yrs, with original Dallas-Arbiter Fuzz Faces and many other notable vintage and boutique fuzz effects. Never gigged. Please reference pics.
