A superb original Asprey London cigarette case, crafted in sterling silver with genuine green shagreen panels, assayed in London circa 1928–1929.
The case retains its original gilt (vermeil) interior, with crisp hallmarks and the Asprey retailer’s stamp. The shagreen exterior is original and intact, showing attractive age-related colour variation consistent with genuine early 20th-century examples.
Condition is very good antique condition overall. The silver frame has been lightly and carefully cleaned only, retaining appropriate patina. Very small dent in one corner of the silver frame. No splits, no repairs, hinge and clasp function smoothly and are without damage.
A classic inter-war luxury accessory from one of Britain’s most prestigious makers. Asprey shagreen cases are increasingly scarce and highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
