Ertl Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends die-cast locomotive "Thomas" with flat paper sticker face. 

This is the first version of Thomas featuring the sticker face and white plastic footplate section. Thomas, Henry and James were originally released with white plastic footplates but were later updated to the more familiar red footplate as new items were added to the range.

Thomas was originally released with a sticker sheet including buffer head stickers and an alternative sad face expression which can be seen applied to this example.

The item has some playwear on edges and corners. There is some staining to the upper edge of the face. The buffer stickers are missing, likely never applied to the model, but the buffers themselves and couplings are intact.

Please check the photos and make sure you know what this item is before purchasing it. This is an item from the now discontinued Ertl range and as such, if you are looking to use this item as a toy, it is only compatible with other items from the Ertl range. This is not compatible with Tomy, Trackmaster, Wooden Railway, Wood, Adventures, Take Along, Take N Play or any other Thomas toy range. If you are unfamiliar with the Ertl range then this is probably not the item you are looking for.
