Fitted mains plug, removed lower cover and found uncut resistor wires from a previous repair. Removed poorly installed resistor and replaced, powered up and determined amp in protect mode, traced to same resistor above open circuit in the other channel, replaced resistor and protect mode fixed, but other channel lower gain, traced to another resistor replaced from the failed repair, resistor was incorrect value, replaced and gain now matched, noticed poor sound on some inputs, traced to dry solder joints on all RCA connectors to amp board, cleaned interior and checked all inputs.

The unit is in good working order.
