1876 Centennial Expo Medal
HK-26, SH 2-3 WM, Without Hole
Liberty Bell, Pointed 6
NGC MS62DPL
Shevlin and Hyder note, in the new So-Called Dollars book, that this variety in White Metal is almost always holed. The present example is unholed and is extremely rare as such. Unfortunately, NGC does not distinguish between holed and unholed. It is also a gorgeous medal, with glowing, stark white complexion, Cameo devices, and true DPL fields. A few isolated bag marks and a rim bruise at 8:00 on the obverse prevents a Choice MS grade. Gorgeous!
