Never bland, generic, cookie-cutter A.I. Game highlights, if provided or helpful, are
for those football fans who may be
younger and know little, those older who may have forgotten or to just
provide pertinent information that highlights the significance of this game, event or participant.
With the NFL's #1 defense in points and yards allowed and a #1 team points differential, the Seattle Seahawks collected their 1st NFL Championship in their 38th season by flexing their muscles, offensively, defensively and special teamsvely (sic), to dominate an over-matched Denver Broncos squad to the tune of 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII from MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ.
With Russell Wilson passing for two, Marshawn Lynch running for one, and a defense that featured John Lynch [PFHoF], Richard Sherman and Bobby Wilson and a Percy Harvin kickoff return for one Td and a Malcolm Smith interception return for another Td, the Seahawks hit on all cylinders in cruising to their title.
Despite qb Peyton Manning [C&PFHoF] running the offense, they were no match for the Seahawks this day. It didn't help that the offense turned the ball over four times, two by interception, two by fumbles, and was 0-3 in fourth-down conversions. That's seven drives that ended poorly. Throw in an Percy Harvin 87-yard kickoff return and a Malcolm Smith 69-yard interception return for Tds and one can see why the large disparity in points.
For his interception-return for touchdown, a fumble recovery and ten tackles or assists, Malcolm Smith was chosen SB XLVIII MVP.
[Note: For context, according to the CFHoF website and including
this season's CFHoF 2025 Class, Peyton Manning is one of only
1,111 players
& 237 coaches of 5.78 million players & coaches (.02%) who have
laced-up their cleats in
the past 155 years of college
football to have been enshrined.]
[Note:
According to the PFHoF website, and including the 2025 inductee class, John Lynch and Manning are two of only 327 players and 28 coaches to be Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees.]
[Note:
Further, by my research, Peyton Manning is one of only 156 of those 355 players and coaches to
be members of the PFHoF AND the College Football Hall of Fame; a very
exclusive club.]
[Note to above: There may have been additional [HoF] inductees in this contest but research time is limited]
