This is a Lionel 6-39299 "Lenny Dean" Commemoration Box Car. It is labeled with Lenny Deans name and "Mr. Lionel" and dates of birth and Death 1926-2007.
Lenny Dean's legendary service at Lionel spanned more than six decades. From his humble beginnings as a teenager at the company's New Jersey assembly line, to his work in the service department in the 1940s and rise to manager, to his celebrated position as a Lionel spokesperson and diplomat after his "official" retirement, Lenny was a consummate train aficionado and a Lionel goodwill ambassador throughout his career. Now hobbyists can keep Lenny in their hearts and memories.*
