Product Description

This is an elegant mid-century rectangular powder compact, attributed to Zell Fifth Avenue. The lid features a beautiful engraved floral and leaf design paired with a classic geometric "ribbon" motif. This long, slim "cigarette" style shape was highly fashionable in the 1940s and 1950s and fits perfectly in a modern clutch or evening bag. The interior still contains its original fine mesh sifter screen and the fabric/elastic band used to secure a powder puff.

Condition Report

This compact is in good vintage condition with some expected signs of age. The exterior gold-tone finish shows light surface scratches and a lovely aged patina. Please note that the original mirror is missing from the inside lid, leaving behind some adhesive residue and revealing the reverse of the lid's engraving. The hinge is strong and the latch clicks shut tightly. Please refer to the photos for a close-up look at the cosmetic condition. Thanks for looking!
