OVERVIEW

When it comes to sealing the top end of a high-performance air-cooled engine, there is no substitute for the precision engineering found in JayCee Billet Valve Covers. These aren''t your standard stamped-steel or cheap cast covers that warp under heat and age; they are meticulously CNC-machined from a solid block of premium 6061-T6 billet aluminum to ensure absolute structural integrity. Designed specifically for the most demanding racing and high-performance environments, JayCee has eliminated the perpetual headache of leaking cork gaskets by incorporating a high-tech O-ring sealing surface. This design provides a positive, repeatable seal that can withstand the high crankcase pressures often found in turbocharged or high-compression naturally aspirated VW engines, ensuring your oil stays inside the engine and off the track.

Beyond their mechanical superiority, these valve covers offer a level of fit and finish that defines a professional-grade engine build. Each cover is polished to a mirror shine and then finished with a high-quality anodizing to provide a durable, corrosion-resistant barrier that looks as impressive as it performs. The iconic JAYCEE logo is precision-engraved into the face, signaling to everyone at the track or the car show that you haven''t cut corners on your build. Whether you are running a set of legendary AutoCraft 910 heads or the latest Strip Dominators by CB Performance, these covers provide the critical internal clearance necessary for high-lift rockers and heavy-duty valve springs while maintaining a profile that fits comfortably within the tight confines of a Volkswagen engine bay.

PRO TIPS

1. Proper O-Ring Preparation is Key

Before installing your JayCee Billet Valve Covers, always inspect the O-ring groove for any debris or machining dust. To ensure a lifetime of leak-free performance, apply a light smear of clean engine oil or a dedicated O-ring lubricant to the Viton seal before seating it. This prevents the O-ring from binding or "rolling" during the installation process. If you ever remove the covers for a valve adjustment, wipe the O-ring clean and re-lubricate it. Because these use a high-quality Viton material, you won''t need to replace them nearly as often as traditional gaskets, but keeping them supple is the secret to a dry engine block.

2. Optimize Your Crankcase Ventilation

High-performance engines, especially those with large bores or forced induction, generate significant crankcase pressure. While these valve covers offer a superior seal, that pressure has to go somewhere. We highly recommend utilizing the available space on the flat Boss of the cover to install A.N. breather fittings. Routing these to a high-quality catch can or breather box will significantly reduce the risk of oil being pushed past your main seals. When drilling for fittings, always remove the O-ring first and thoroughly wash the covers afterward to ensure no aluminum shavings remain inside the rocker area.

3. Don''t Over-Torque the Mounting Nuts

One of the most common mistakes when installing billet valve covers is over-tightening the mounting hardware. Because the JayCee design utilizes an O-ring seal on a precision-milled flat surface, you do not need excessive force to achieve a seal. Over-tightening can put unnecessary stress on the cylinder head
