The Lionel Lines Pre War 226E Steam Locomotive is a vintage model train engine from 1938-1941 and is designed to run on 3-rail O gauge track. This 226E model has been recently cleaned & oiled, brushes replaced, the motor runs, the e-unit cycles but a little slow. Locomotive runs in forward, reverse, and neutral. (see video) Operating headlight and the "Red" coal fire bulb is present. There is some white paint spots and there is a crack on the rear frame indicated (see pics). There are a few missing parts: the RH & LH valve gear eccentric crank and the front pilot track assembly. (see pic for list - prices that I found listed from TRAINZ)

The 2226w tender whistle has been recently cleaned & oiled, whistle operates but only if lifted slightly off the tracks. (see video)  The shell has some wear finish issues. Not familiar with pre war and don't want to disassemble any further than a general cleaning. The tender uses an impeller to create a nostalgic "real" whistle. No circuit board or speaker.

The locomotive and tender are very heavy and are impressive examples of pre WWII materials and Lionel engineering.  Both of these are rare collectible pieces and sure to delight enthusiasts and collectors alike.

I am not the original owner and recently acquired the trains that are listed.
