Headlight Assembly Installation Steps
Pre-Installation Preparation:
- Ensure the vehicle is turned off and the key is removed; wait for the engine to cool down completely.
- Prepare tools: Phillips screwdriver/socket wrench, gloves, and a cleaning cloth (optional).
- Check that all accessories of the new Headlight Assembly are complete and compatible with your original vehicle model.
Installation Steps:
Disconnect the Power Supply
- Open the engine hood, locate the negative terminal of the battery and disconnect it (to prevent short circuits), or directly unplug the power connector of the Headlight Assembly.Remove the Original Headlight Assembly
Remove the Original Headlight Assembly
- Remove the fixing screws/clips of the Headlight Assembly (usually located above or inside the headlight).
- Carefully take out the original Headlight Assembly, being careful not to scratch the vehicle paint.
- Unplug the power connector and bulb wiring harness at the back of the Headlight Assembly.
Install the New Headlight Assembly
- Align the new Headlight Assembly with the mounting position and gently push it into place.
- Secure the Headlight Assembly with screws/clips (following the reverse order of removal), and avoid over-tightening to prevent damaging the clips.
- Connect the power connector and bulb wiring harness, ensuring the connections are firm and secure.
Debugging and Inspection
- Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery (if disconnected earlier).
- Start the vehicle and test the functions of the low beam, high beam, turn signals, and daytime running lights one by one.
- Check the Headlight Assembly beam angle; if adjustment is needed, fine-tune it using the adjustment screws on the back of the Headlight Assembly.
Final Checks
- Clean the installation area and ensure no tools or parts are left behind.
- Close the engine hood to complete the installation.
Important Notes:
- If clips break or screws strip during installation, do not force the operation; it is recommended to consult a professional technician.
- When installing LED or xenon Headlight Assemblies, ensure compatibility with a decoder to avoid dashboard warning lights or flickering issues.
- For nighttime installation, operate in a well-lit environment to ensure safety.
