Dragon Armor's 1/72 scale model represents a vehicle of the 1st Guard Tanks Brigade, part of the 8th Mechanized body of the Guard. This unit went from called 4th Brigade of Tank on November 11, 1941 and was the first to receive the name of "Guards", something that the Soviets had avoided until then due to their association with the tsaries. The name of "guards" was conferred to the units that had distinguished themselves in combat, which gave these formations an elite status.
