The Cooperstown And Susquehanna Valley Railroad Company was organiized in 1865 to construct a rail line that would connect Cooperstown to the Albany And Susquehanna line. This point would become known as Cooperstown Junction.This certificate has a beautifully engraved vignette of a steam locomotive train and some great scenery. 

The certificate is signed on the reverse side by Andrew Davidson as Trustee. Davidson was a soldier who was awarded the Medal Of Honor for bravery at the Battle Of the Crater in Petersburg, Virginia during the Civil War. He was also a newspaper editor in Cooperstown. 

This certificate would also be important to any collector of baseball memorabilia as it involves Cooperstown, New York, which is the home to Major League Baseball's Hall Of Fame.
