This listing is part of a collection of Good Housekeeping magazines from 1928-1933. They encompass the changing roles of women up to and including the Great Depression as they started to enter the workforce. A 60-Minute Menu series was launched to help women prepare quick, nutritious meals after a long day at work and there was a focus on giving practical advice for budgeting and resourcefulness. Fiction writers who appeared during this period included A.J. Cronin, Frances Parkinson Keyes, Somerset Maugham, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Evelyn Waugh, and Virginia Woolf. Jessie Wilcox Smith was the primary cover artist during these years.
