Push barges are unmanned open vessels that have standardized sizes. In inland navigation, usually 2 or 4 lighters are coupled together to form a rigid ship's hull. Their number depends on the water width of a river or canal. Due to its box-like shape, the lighter has only a small draft. The movable roller hatches cover the cargo of ore, sand or grain, and the hatches are removed to transport containers.
