Dynamo Kyiv’s 2019–2020 season was a mix of domestic success and European
disappointment. They finished 2nd in the Ukrainian Premier League, behind
Shakhtar Donetsk, but won both the Ukrainian Cup and Super Cup—defeating
Vorskla on penalties and Shakhtar 3–1, respectively. In Europe, their Champions
League run ended early, and they exited the Europa League at the group stage
after finishing third. Viktor Tsyhankov led the team with 17 goals in all
competitions. The Cup final went to a dramatic 8–7 penalty
shoot-out, and many of their key matches were played behind closed doors.
