Mattel Aquarius QD Quickdisk Disk Drive

This is an incredibly rare floppy disk drive for the Mattel Aquarius.

The Quickdisk floppy disk drive system is a "stringy floppy", meaning that although the medium is actually a floppy disk, the read head doesn't have random access but has to seek through the entire disk to reach the data it needs. As such it's not exactly a speed demon! However, it is an incredibly rare peripheral for the Mattel Aquarius. This example (one of very few known) carries the serial number that suggests it is number 15 (either that or 100,015 - but there's definitely not 100,000 of them made!). The system does work with my Aquarius, and the only problem is that the eject button can get stuck down meaning the door doesn't close. Pushing the eject clamp inside fixes the problem and it probably just needs a bit of use again (I've not used it much which is why I'm selling it!).

This will obviously be VERY well packaged, but I cannot offer a warranty on its functionality except that it does work right now. It's an old piece of kit and there's no documentation for maintenance so I can't guarantee it'll still be working in ten years time!
