WFL (Ludwig) circa 1958-!967 (with this lever handle) P-87 Classic Snare Drum Strainer Throw-Off. The lever functions smoothly and as it should, the tension adjustment knob turns smoothly all the way in and out.  It includes new mounting screws and internal/external tooth star washers, as pictured. If mounting on a 6 ply shell you may need slightly longer mounting screws (we them available). The mounting screws currently with it are for metal and 3 ply shells The WFL P-87 snare drum strainer throw-off was probably most famous as the choice of Buddy Rich for his signature #900 Super Classic snare drum from the late 40s well into the 50s. The WFL P-87 was produced from 1948 through 1967 with the WFL Classic body design then in 1967 it was the last year of this specific version as that is the year it changed to the Ludwig P-87 Classic strainer throw off (see the last picture from the 1967 catalog showing both versions). From 1948 through 1957 the WFL P-87 was made with a slightly different lever handle shape. In 1958 the WFL P-87 was produced with the lever handle shape and design as on this example all the way through 1967. From 1967 through the end of production for the P-87 it remained unchanged.
