From the DJ:
Mr. Garnett finds and original subject for his latest story in the experiences of two men and a woman engaged on a record-breaking long-distance air trip.  They crash, and the pilot, whose leg is injured, is left alone, with little food, in a desert place.  His feelings, adventures and sufferings there are described with precision and detail, and with extraordinary insight into the mind of a man who is at once brave and commonplace.  Once again, Mr. Garnett displays the versatility of his talent and the charm of his narrative style.

This copy is near fine in purple mottled paper-covered boards with gilt titles on the spine.  Slight bumping at the corners and spine ends.  No other marks or damage.  The unclipped DJ has slight edge wear, minor fraying at the jacket spine ends, sun darkening and minor spotting on the jacket spine.  Signed by Garnett and dated 27 Nov. 1964 on the ffep.
