Thank you for looking, This recent find is from the Estate of a US ARMY RANGER who served two tours in Vietnam and retired as a Colonel who then worked as a contractor at Redstone Arsenal. This listing includes his VIETNAM M1 SHELL HELMET LINER with 2nd and 23rd INFANTRY DECALS Plus 3 PATCHES - see details below:
- HELMET LINER has 3 Decals - one each of 2nd Infantry, 23rd Infantry and Lieutenant
- Stamp on Webbing appears to be 1959 has MIL plus other information (hard to read)
- 3 PATCHES (2nd Infantry, 23rd Infantry and "2" - 2nd Infantry)
- Approximate Measurements
- 2nd Infantry Indianhead PATCH - appx. 3-1/2"W x 4-1/8"L
- 23rd Infantry PATCH - appx. 2-3/4"W x 3-5/8"L
- "2" 2nd Infantry PATCH - appx. 2-1/4"W x 2-1/2"L
- Straps and Webbing suspension system is attached (no chin strap) - helmet liner listed as found and foam padding material seems to be disintegrated (would likely crumble if touched/pressed)
Set is in Very Good condition for use and age with some expected wear. As mentioned above foam padding inside the helmet liner seems to be disintegrated and would likely crumble if touched/pressed.
