The Life of Benjamin Franklin 1858 by Himself 1858 C M Saxton New York
#38 Illinois District School Library A C Moore
Item Description
Here is a nice antique autobiography book being the classic, "The Life of Benjamin Franklins" by Himself. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself!
This book is entitled, "The Life of Benjamin Franklin". Written by Himself and published after his death in 1790. This book is not a first edition. The book was published by C M Saxton of New York. The book once belonged to the Illinois School District Library. Noted on a paper label on the inside of the front cover, and in gold gilt on the spine. Not sure what the number 38 means on the spine.
The cut pages are smooth cut on the top, bottom and sides and given a marbled look. Has a leather spine and tan colored cloth hardcovers.
The front and rear covers still securely attached to the book. No musty or mildewy smell. Some minor foxing and brown spotting, see pics. No moldiness. Some rub along the edges and minor loss of finish to the covers.
The book is 7.5" tall, by 5.5" across, by 1.25" wide. The book is 375 pages in length. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make an
offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.
The pictures provided both complement and
supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as
well. With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little
imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description.
