Here is a nice Sylvania 5U4G vacuum tube with hanging filament and bottom square getter. This tube is unused and has not be out of its sleeve.The box has been misplaced. 

This tube is a military issue, wartime VT-244. The gettering is typical of wartime Sylvania VT-244's. The VT-244 markings were usually above the Sylvania name on the base but were removed when the tube was surplussed (they removed the military designations, sometimes only parts of them and other times wholly.

This tube wasTested on a calibrated TV-7D tube tester with a minimum good test result of 40 (65% of the tube), these plates tested 56/54..
