How to Apply Vinyl Iron-On with a Regular Iron

1️⃣ Prepare Your Surface

  Choose a flat, hard surface (not an ironing board if it’s too soft—use a table with a cloth on it).

  
  


• 
  

  Lay your fabric flat and iron it briefly to remove wrinkles.

  
  

2️⃣ Position the Vinyl

• 
  

  Place the vinyl decal (shiny/plastic side up, adhesive side down) on the fabric where you want it.

  
  


• 
  

  Make sure it’s straight and centred.

  
  

3️⃣ Set the Iron

• 
  

  Heat iron to Cotton / Linen setting (no steam!).

  
  


• 
  

  Wait until it’s fully hot.

  
  

4️⃣ Cover & Press

• 
  

  Place a thin cloth or parchment paper over the vinyl.

  
  


• 
  

  Press the iron firmly in place for 10–15 seconds (don’t slide).

  
  


• 
  

  Lift, move, and press each section until all areas are heated.

  
  

5️⃣ Let it Cool

  Let it cool 

  
  


• 
  

  Gently peel the clear plastic carrier sheet.

    If vinyl lifts, lay it back down and press again.

    
    
  
  
  
  

6️⃣ Final Press

• 
  

  Cover with cloth again and give a final 5–10 sec press to seal it.

  Press, don’t rub or glide.

  Wash inside-out after 24 hours
