The 2013 Los Angeles Galaxy season, their 18th in MLS, saw them finish 3rd in the Western Conference and 5th overall. Despite entering as two-time defending MLS Cup champions, they were eliminated by Real Salt Lake in the Conference Semifinals. The Galaxy reached the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals in the 2012–13 season but were knocked out by Monterrey. They also won the L.A. Derby and the California Clasico during the year but exited early in the U.S. Open Cup and International Champions Cup group stages.
