• Beschreibung: Halbfigurenporträt des anglikanischen Geistlichen Richard Robinson, Erzbischof von Armagh und Primas von ganz Irland. Er ist in Dreiviertelfigur nach links stehend dargestellt, mit Blick zum Betrachter, in schlichter Kleidung mit Mantel, Dreispitz und Handschuhen, den Stock in der rechten Hand haltend. Links im Hintergrund eine weite Landschaft mit Brücke und Kirchturm.

  Robinson, 1st Baron Rokeby, war anglikanischer Geistlicher und von 1765 bis zu seinem Tod Erzbischof von Armagh sowie Primas von ganz Irland. Er machte sich als bedeutender Förderer von Architektur, Bildung und Kunst einen Namen, indem er zahlreiche öffentliche Gebäude, Bibliotheken und Stiftungen in Armagh errichten ließ. 1777 wurde er in den Adelsstand erhoben und spielte sowohl kirchlich als auch kulturell eine prägende Rolle im Irland des 18. Jahrhunderts.

On the left in the background is a wide landscape with a bridge and church tower.
