The staple length is up to 5 inches but the tips will break off if pulled on. 

Mostly white with some gray fibers. Pretty soft. 

There is small vegetable matter in the locks. 

Our fleeces are only lightly skirted, so it is possible to find taggy edges, vegetable matter, a few burrs in the outer coat, etc
