The staple length is up to 5 inches but it will break in half if pulled on. There is some cotting at the break point. This could be felted further into a nice living rug. 

It has a soft inner coat and coarser outer coat. It is mostly cream with colored edges. 

It is quite clean tho there is vegetable matter. It is mostly small vegetable matter in the locks. 

Our fleeces are only lightly skirted, so it is possible to find taggy edges, vegetable matter, a few burrs in the outer coat, etc
