This drive was OEM supplied in a beige era Dell PC and was pulled when the machine was retired. Every machine on the Desktop Publishing team had one and even many of the office staffs Dells were speced with them OEM.  Back in the days before USB thumb drives and home broadband it was the best way to get large files back from work to home. They were so ubiquitous but when used daily in a production environment the drives also failed at a prodigious rate so I took to pulling them from retired machines to keep as spares. Eventually manufacturers stopped supplying them in machines and we used them in external enclosures for a while to recover the odd recently archived file rather than have to restore from tape backup. Cleaning up my storeroom recently I came across a stash of IDE and SCSI versions and the nostalgia hit me hard. Figured I'd put them on Ebay so someone can use them in their Retro build rather than send them off to e-waste.
