Dear Sir,

I am sorry to say that I have no photograph of myself. the enclosed is from one of Mendels Sohn's taken some years ago. It is my own propert, but I have the editor a "quiver" (Cassells & Co.,) leave to get it, and that it appeared in his paper.

I daresay he would lend it to you - I may mention that I was photographed a few days ago at Russell's for a little, you can have one of these new ones if they are satisfactory. I have not seen them yet, but they are to be submitted to use very soon - though not my property. I shall choose the best of t hem and order some for myself
