Modchip solution for old Sigma EOS lenses - fixes ERR01 (firmware incompatibility)
Do you own an old Sigma lens for Canon film cameras and want to reuse it with a modern DSLR?
If your old Sigma lens from the film era throws Error 01 on a modern Canon DSLR when shooting, this modchip is the solution.

Important Notes:
- This modchip fixes Error 01 only if there are no mechanical issues with the lens. To confirm, test your lens on a Canon film camera first.
- The modchip cannot fix cracked aperture gears, broken flex cables, or oil contamination.
Installation instructions
- Isolate the area with golden fingers ("connector used for initial programming" area in the picture). This area may already be isolated.

- Remove the decorative insert from your Sigma lens.


- Unscrew the bayonet contacts to access the flex cable.

- Place the Modchip on the connector as shown below, with the IC facing up.

- Solder all bayonet contacts to the Modchip mounting holes.
- Wrap the resulting board to fit it inside the lens housing, then screw the bayonet contacts back in place.
- Reattach the decorative insert.
- Now check the result: put lens on any digital camera, set aperture value to any number but wide open (e.g. F8) and press aperture repetier (DoF) button. Aperture on the lens must close down to desired value and get back to open as soon as you release DoF button.
