PEC Zwolle Vrouwen, founded in 2010, has been a steady presence in Dutch women's football, competing in the Eredivisie since its inception. The club's best league finish came in the 2017–18 season, securing 4th place with Babiche Roof as the top scorer, who was later named Player of the Year. In 2019, they reached their first KNVB Women's Cup final but fell short against AFC Ajax. The team has also played in the now-defunct BeNe League and continues its development through a partnership with SV Zwolle.
