Art by Luke McDonnell, John Byrne, Joe Brozowski and More Task Force X was created in World War II to neutralize metahuman and supernatural threats. Over time, the roster was updated to include incarcerated supervillains who could reduce their prison sentences if they went on dangerous assignments that were deemed suicide missions. Thus, Task Force X earned a new nickname: the Suicide Squad! This first collection of John Ostrander and Luke McDonnell's classic run includes stories from SUICIDE SQUAD #1-10, SECRET ORIGINS #14, DETECTIVE COMICS #582, THE FURY OF FIRESTORM #62-64, FIRESTORM: THE NUCLEAR MAN ANNUAL #5, LEGENDS #1-6, and MILLENNIUM #4.
