1 gallon tape primer, 1 Roll 3" x 25' and 1 Roll 3"x50 vulcanized butyl seam tape used to joint 2 overlapping pieces of EPDM deck sheet roofing to form a watertight seal. Need to use primer activator to prime the seam area before applying the 3" seam tape.
SELF VULCANIZING LAP JOINTS
All lap joints: shall be sealed using RUBBER TO RUBBER TAPE. All lap joints shall be shingled to shed water toward the drains, scuppers, etc.
Contact surfaces for the RUBBER TO RUBBER TAPE shall be cleaned to remove construction dirt using a light application of unleaded gas on a clean, lint-free rag. After cleaning apply primer to surfaces before applying seam tape.
The RUBBER TO RUBBER TAPE shall be securely bonded to the bottom deck sheet along the previously mark proper edge alignment of the seam tape on the bottom sheet. The top sheet shall then be lapped onto the lower sheet. The release paper shall be carefully removed without disturbing the placement of either sheet.
The lap joint shall be "walked in" to fix placement and thoroughly rolled with a 2" metal roller in the direction perpendicular to the length of the joint.
