Blatz Chewing Gum 2 Sticks and Outer Wrapper 1920s maybe early 1930's Prohibition Era Very Rare Val Blatz Brewing Co. These are so rare and in excellent condition. You get 2 full sticks with wrappers and the outer wrapper that held 5 sticks. These are over 100 years old. The wrappers have no tears but, the one has a little fold at the seam since the seam is a little out of alignment. The back mentions Val Blatz Brewing Company. The other stick is also a little out of alignment and does not have the writing on the back. I don't thing there was a lot of process control especially since these were produced by a brewing company during prohibition. The larger outer wrapper is in excellent condition, no wear or tears but, one side is slightly folded on one end. Originally registered as the "Val Blatz Brewing Company," but in 1931 became simply "Blatz Brewing Company. During the prohibition years between 1920 and 1933, Blatz had to discontinue the production of alcoholic beverages and began making non-alcoholic drinks, including one of the first forms of "near-beer," plus various juices and even "Blatz Chewing Gum. The gum was only produced for a short time. Great items for your vintage chewing gum collection. Please note that this gum is not for consumption just for collecting and displaying.
