This is a rare fossil collected from the Frodingham Ironstone Formation, Scunthorpe Quarry, Lincolnshire, England. The specimen contains a bivalve (Cardinia sp.) This was collected over 20 years ago and has been recently prepared. Jurassic era, approx 200 million years old and it displays very well. Excellent detail and calcite preservation, could polish up beautifully !
Specimen measures approx 13cm x 6.5cm x 4.5cm, with the bivalve itself approx 5.4cm x 4cm.
