The Hallicrafters S-38E was produced in the mid 1950s in the USA. It uses five miniature tubes. This receiver has standard broadcast coverage from 540-1650 kc. plus three shortwave bands from 1650 kc. through 32 mc.  In addition, it has an intermediate frequency of 455 kc.  The cabinet is gray painted steel. It weighs a very solid 10.5 pounds.

This unit needs a little rehab electronically. It is a very sound restoration candidate. It is one of a number of Hallicrafters radios I purchased from a long time collector and ham operator. It has all of its original knobs and a fairly good back cover. I did not open the back but I can see that the tubes are all present.

The cabinet has a few minor paint blemishes. It is in quite good shape when considering that it is about 70 years old.

I warrant this radio to be as described when you receive it. There is no additional warranty.

Check my feedback. I describe accurately, pack safely, and ship quickly.
