Map of the hundred of Axstane, which covers Eynsford, Lullingstone, Fawkham, West Kingsdown and Greenhithe areas in Kent.
Titled 'A Map of the Hundred of Axstane', this map is from the 1801 edition of Edward Hasted's 'History of Kent.'.  It is a genuine original specimen in good condition, guaranteed to be over 220 years old.

After 40 years of collecting Kent maps and prints, I have decided it's time to let them go.

The paper measures 378mm x 374 (min)mm.
The printed map measures 366mm x 357mm.

This is a clean unfoxed specimen, a good impression with just the feintest of offsetting visible, in original uncoloured state.  Maps from this edition frequently suffer loss when bound into the books; in this case, whilst the paper has been trimmed near to the margin at the lower left edge, there is no loss (see the photos). The paper is a good weight and there are no rips/tears/holes or repairs; there is a small nick (with no loss) to the top right corner, well outside the printed area (see the photo).  I would describe this as a good/very good specimen.

This is not a reproduction or modern reprint. The photographs show the condition. I recently sold another specimen of this map for a lower price, but that reflected it was not in as good condition.

It will be sent rolled in a tube, tracked.
