When the younger Elliott took the checkered flag in his No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet at Phoenix to clinch the 2020 crown, it meant that he and Bill, who also drove the No. 9 to his title, became just the third father-son pairing to earn a championship at the highest level of NASCAR.
