This is for an original 1948 issue of Tim McCoy #16 published by Charlton Comics. Usually if a comic is number 16 it would mean that there were 15 issues before it or the comic changed its title somewhere along the line. Not the case with this book. Charlton decided to start a run of Tim McCoy starting at the magic number of 16 and ending with issue 21. For some reason America was in love with Western good guys and the market was flooded with Western titles. Even this book features little bios of Jimmy Wakely and Bob Atcher, Johnny Mack Brown, and Gene Autry and Champ. This gem even features 5 pages of “Injun Talk” showing and telling how Indians speak without words. And as with any western of the day you’ll find names like Dirty Al, Ugly Mike, Baldy, Groot, Fen and Buster McGee. Not sure what the CGC census is on this book but other than the touch of white on the cover near the spine this one is almost flawless. Not only a great book but maybe the only chance you will have to learn Injun Talk.
