This is my second Charizard card listed, I have 2 total charizards. Due to imperfections in the holo on this card I believe it would be a 9 compared to the other which I feel has a real shot at being a 10.
Borders are as good as it gets out of a pack, very nice blue back borders and edges. 3 things to point out on front of the card in the holo part only. There is one tiny scratch in the holographic part of the card, visible in picture 2 and picture 5 by the tip of the white flame. I don't know the cause of that scratch since the card went from pack to sleeve and hard case. Also there is an orange dot in the holo that does not reflect. It matches the orange colors of the card so I believe it is from the factory, but it is slightly noticeable when light hits the card at an angle against the otherwise shiny holo. Lastly, there literally a tiny hair or fiber on the Charizard's stomach. I tried to lightly brush it off with a glasses micro cloth, but it appears to be a hair/fiber that will not brush off, absolutely not a scratch but indeed a hair, so I really don't understand it. You could probably wipe it off, but I do not want to press hard enough to try. All these are visible in picture 2 and 5.
The white line in picture 1 that looks like a curved scratch between the orange spot and the tail tip is not a scratch, it was a fiber/hair that brushed off and is not visible in other pictures or in person. It is almost impossible to take these detailed pictures without some sort of hair or fibers or dust making the card look worse than it actually is!
Please look at the pictures and ask questions if you have them. I took this card directly out of a booster pack and put it in a clear sleeve and hard case combination like pictured over 20 years ago. I only removed it to take pictures, then I put it in a brand new clear sleeve and hard case, as seen in the last picture. I tapped the bottom of the case on the counter to get the card all the way in. I would fist fight the grader if this card was not a 9/10 for PSA purposes.
I took these pictures on an iPhone X. I tried to show each corner in the best detail I could, and I tried to make sure light reflections did not obscure anything. The pictures are meant to show the edges and corners to show if there is any white, which I'd consider the main factor affecting the value. The background is a red file folder, which makes any white stand out on the blue. The lighting brings out all flaws on the back side and I think it makes flaws/white on edges look worse than they actually are. The visible bow is due to the cards being in these individual cases for so long, the cards are not warped. I have no desire to rip anyone off with a poor description or unclear pictures. I looked into PSA grading but it's costly and takes several months. I realize my prices may be high without the fancy PSA grading but it is what it is, if they sell they sell, I have diamond hands. Feel free to ask me any questions!
I am a lawyer in St. Louis, not a professional eBay seller. I was born in 1988 and I used to watch Pokemon in the van on the way to elementary school each morning. I started collecting Pokemon cards when they first came out. I purchased pretty much all my cards in booster packs, 2-3 per week using my allowance, at the Walgreens on the corner of Brentwood Blvd and Litzinger Road in Brentwood, Missouri. I never played some of the rare holos unless I had duplicates, and I kept the rare holos in cases not books. I gave away most of my old cards to my Nephew a couple years ago but I kept some of the unplayed holos cards, which I am now hoping to sell to help save up a down payment for a new house, or to strengthen my position in Gamestop. I will have more cards up for sale soon from the first three sets and some promos and randoms.
